Wellness and Prevention
Good health is founded on the principle of prevention. All patients are recommended to check in with the doctor annually to review your current health, your risk factors for preventable disease, and to set goals for the coming year.
What are some preventative measures I can take?
Exercise--120 minutes/week of moderate intensity
Adequate Sleep--7 to 9 hours consistently
Eat Produce--5 servings per day
Get Screenings on Schedule--kids and adults
Keep Vaccines Up to Date--prevent disease
Do I need to be examined annually?
Recent studies suggest that there is no evidence of benefit to the annual physical exam for a patient with no symptoms, so guidelines have changed to help doctors devote time to care that makes a difference.
While there may be not use for a head to toe examination, we find it helpful to set aside time every year to meet with your doctor to have a comprehensive discussion about your health.
